new revelation about Romans 8:28-30
“And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”
Well i think i know i am called by God, since my life didnt exactly turn out how i thought it’d be, its better. and many times i’ve received assurance and peace and joy even in my choice of career and stuff.
So that means that i was predestined to be conformed to the likeness of Christ! and quoting the HTB guest speaker, being a Christian isn’t just about believing in Christ, its about becoming like Christ, being conformed to the likeness of Christ. The disciples and believers in the early Church Age were called Christians because they resembled Jesus Christ so much!
Amazing stuff. On one hand, i really thank God that i know that my life is going the right way for now, and i just thank Him that he predestined me to be conformed to his likeness (since that was the prayer of my heart after hearing the awe-inspiring sermon). On the other hand, i know i have to start working on this journey more, because as God reminded me, the more i seek him and his likeness, the more i will find him and become like him.
God, make me desire to be conformed to your likeness more!
